Eagle’s Flight Advocacy & Outreach
Eagles Flight Advocacy and Outreach (EFAO) was founded through our personal journey with our son, who was diagnosed with autism in 1998. This journey, filled with challenges and learning experiences, inspired the creation of an organization dedicated to supporting families in crisis and addressing various needs within the community. Since 2012, EFAO has grown into a comprehensive outreach service that touches the lives of many through a wide range of programs and services.
One of the core areas of our work involves providing essential resources to families in need. We assist with food, clothing, and a baby pantry, ensuring that families facing financial difficulties have access to the necessities. These resources can make a significant difference in stabilizing families during tough times and helping them get back on their feet.
In addition to basic necessities, we offer emergency shelter and assistance to women and their children who are fleeing domestic violence and human trafficking. Our shelters provide a safe haven where these individuals can find refuge, support, and the resources they need to start rebuilding their lives. Our team works tirelessly to ensure that these women and children receive the care, counseling, and guidance necessary to transition to a more stable and secure future.
Supporting seniors and people with disabilities is another critical component of our mission. We help with various needs within their homes, including providing food, hygiene products, and household items. By addressing these needs, we aim to improve their quality of life and enable them to live with dignity and independence.
EFAO is also committed to promoting the Baby Moses Law, an initiative that stands against child abuse and provides safe alternatives for parents unable to care for their infants. In alignment with this commitment, we also take on the solemn responsibility of burying abandoned and abused infants who have passed away. We believe that every child deserves a dignified burial, and we honor these young lives with care and respect during their burials.
Recognizing the therapeutic benefits of animal interaction, we offer a summer animal play program for special needs children, foster children, and children who have experienced trauma. This program provides a joyful and healing environment where children can engage with animals, helping to reduce stress and anxiety while fostering positive emotional experiences.
One of the key areas where EFAO makes a substantial impact is in assisting parents of special needs children. Navigating the special education system can be overwhelming, especially when dealing with a new diagnosis. We help parents understand and apply special education law to their child’s education. Many parents struggle with the concept of FAPE (Free and Appropriate Public Education) and how it applies specifically to their child. We offer free consultation and representation during ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings, assisting parents in analyzing their child’s IEP (Individualized Education Program), BIP (Behavioral Intervention Plan), and assessments.
Our goal is to empower parents with the knowledge and tools they need to effectively communicate with their child’s school and request appropriate assessments and services. We provide solutions to help them navigate the education system and ensure that their child receives the support they need to succeed. Additionally, we offer resources and referrals to other agencies that can further impact their child’s education and overall well-being.
Eagles Flight Advocacy and Outreach is committed to making a difference in the community by addressing a wide range of needs. From providing essential resources and emergency shelter to advocating for special needs education and promoting child safety laws, our organization strives to create a supportive and inclusive environment for all. Our dedication to this mission is driven by our personal experiences and the belief that every individual deserves the opportunity to thrive.
